I successfully completed my design brief which was to Overall, I am very happy with the effort that I put into this database create a proficient database which will manage the details of the singers that they are in charge of. I am surprised at its efficiency and ease of use, which I tried to focus on when making it. I am also glad that I could find and work on 25 different bands, which broadened both my knowledge of databasing and different bands around Australia, which was very insightful. Therefore, I believe to have filled out the criteria set by my design brief and criteria for success!
Process
The PRIME cycle was a pivotal part of the completion of my blog and animation.
Problem: This was a very important part in coming up with the design brief which was to create a proficient database to store band and singer information, and ultimately what I had to create aswell as the limits and requirements I had to meet.
Research: Research allowed me explore a wide variety of bands aswell as musical genres such as techno and dubstep which is becoming increasingly popular. Also, greater knowledge of how to organise these singers aswell as learning the fundamentals helped me to understand the basics of the database and to use the programme effectively.
Ideas: The ideas section was an important one as it helped me to figure out different attributes to put in my three tables (Singer_ID, Events_ID and Genre_ID). This helped me create a more thorough search, making my project both efficient and accurate.
Make: The make section was extremely important as this is where I have gathered all my past research and ideas, and create the best possible animation,using one of the researched softwares.
Evaluate: Evaluation is important as I can review my work and tell myself where I went wrong and where to improve for next time. Also, my peers can comment on my work and tell me some of my strengths and weaknesses in my database, which provides another perspective.
Personal
Overall, I am extremely happy with both my application and effort in preparing and creating my database. I believe that it has been a success as all the bands are placed in their appropriate table and the guidelines have been strictly followed throughout the course of this assignment. Jalen Ren: Joel has managed to perform efficiently throughout the entirety of this database unit, designing and making a professional database as well as a thorough portfolio. His design process has been well thought out and includes details and information about his make. His database has incorporated aspects such as tables and queries, and demonstrates thorough depth in the making of the database
James Lloyd: Joel has established a well-structured and detailed databases that completes both his criteria for success and design brief. He has evidently shown enthusiasm and has paid close attention to the marking criteria, which is key in this assessment. I commend Joel on his outstanding efforts!
